Absorbable Sutures
Advacat suture is an absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a Purified connective tissue (Collagen) derived from the submucosal layer of Ovine Intestine. ADVACAT suture is available in both Chromic and Plain form.
ADVACAT suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures.
ADVACRYL suture is a braided, synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide, coated with a mixture composed of Poly (glycolide-co-lactide) (Glacomer 37) and calcium stearate. ADVACRYL suture is available in both dyed and undyed form.
ADVACRYL suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery, peripheral nerve anastomosis and micro surgery for vessels less than 2 mm diameter, but not for cardiovascular tissues.
ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture is a braided, synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide, coated with a mixture composed of Poly (glycolide-co-lactide) (Glacomer 37) and calcium stearate. suture is ADVACRYL PLUS available in both dyed and undyed form.
ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, except for ophthalmic, cardiovascular and neurological tissues.
ADVACRYL RAPID is a braided synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. ADVACRYL RAPID in comparison to ADVACRYL has a rapid loss of strength and absorption rate. The characteristic rapid loss of strength is achieved by use of a polymer material with a lower molecular weight than regular ADVACRYL (polyglactin 910) suture.
ADVACRYL RAPID is intended for use in general soft tissue approximation where only short-term wound support is required and where the rapid absorption of the suture would be beneficial. Due to its absorption profile. ADVACRYL RAPID suture is useful for skin closure, particularly in paediatric surgery, episiotomies, circumcision and closure of oral mucosa. It is also successfully used in ophthalmic surgery for conjunctival sutures.
ADVAMRYL suture is a synthetic absorbable monofilament sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from a copolymer of Glycolide and ε-caprolactone. ADVAMRYL suture is available in both undyed & violet form. ADVAMRYL suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, but not for use in ophthalmic surgery, micro surgery, cardiovascular and neurological tissues.
ADVAPD suture is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from the Polyester and Polydioxanone. ADVAPD suture is available in both dyed and undyed form.
ADVAPD suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation, including use in ophthalmic surgery and Paediatric cardiovascular tissue where growth is expected to occur. ADVAPD suture is not indicated in adult cardiovascular tissues, peripheral nerve anastomosis & micro surgery. These sutures are particularly useful where the combination of an absorbable suture and extended wound support (up to six weeks) is desirable. ADVAPD suture being an absorbable suture, should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required.
Non-Absorbable Sutures
ADVABOND suture is a sterile, coated, braided, synthetic, non-absorbable surgical suture composed of Polyethylene Terephthalate. The suture is coated with Silicone which acts as a lubricant to mechanically improve the ease of passage through tissue and the overall handling qualities of the suture.
ADVABOND suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular and ophthalmic procedures. The use of suture is contraindicated in patients with known sensitivities or allergies to Polyester.
ADVABOND suture elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by a gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. No significant change in the retention of tensile strength of the suture occurs during the lifetime of the implantation.
ADVALENE suture is a non-absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. ADVALENE suture is dyed with Phthalocyanine Blue to enhance visibility in tissue.
ADVALENE suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery, peripheral nerve anastomosis, cardiovascular and neurological procedures.
ADVALON suture is non-absorbable, sterile surgical monofilament suture composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymers Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6 (Polyamide). ADVALON suture is dyed black to enhance visibility in tissue.
The advanced extrusion process of the nylon molecule gives ADVALON:
- Uniform diameter
- Elasticity to ensure compact and safe knotting
- Excellent and consistent knotting strength
- Inertness for minimal risk of infection
ADVASYL is a non-absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of an organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from Bombyx Mori L. (species of the family Bombycidae). Braided silk is coated with wax and is available dyed in logwood black.
ADVASYL suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic and neurological procedures.
